Osmosis Correct MD
The goal of creating skin longevity isn't to turn back the clock. It's to help skin function at its highest level as we move forward.
We haven't always been fans of Vitamin A due to the damage it can cause to the skin barrier, and then came Correct MD.
Unlike almost every other Vitamin A product out there, this serum's star ingredient is retinaldehyde (or retinal), not retinol. Retinal, an advanced form of vitamin A, works through a liposomal delivery system designed to support effective absorption while minimizing irritation.
Niacinamide, peptides, ectoin, and other skin-supporting ingredients complement the retinaldehyde in this formula, helping improve the appearance of fine lines, uneven texture, and loss of firmness while supporting the skin barrier.
Especially If:
-
You're noticing changes in skin texture, firmness, or the appearance of fine lines.
-
You've tried Vitamin A before and had to abandon it due to excessive redness, peeling, and sensitivity.
-
You want to address visible damage to this skin through the gentlest means possible as part of a long-term skin longevity program.
To use, apply one to two pumps to clean skin, followed by three to five spritzes of Osmosis Infuse Activating Mist, and gently massage into the skin. Follow with additional serums and moisturizer as recommended. If you're new to retinaldehyde, begin two or three evenings per week and gradually increase as your skin tolerates it. Use sunscreen daily.
From the Treatment Room
Not all forms of vitamin A are created equal, and understanding the difference can help us make better choices for our skin.
Retinol and retinaldehyde are both members of the retinoid family, but they take different routes to become active in the skin.
Retinol must first convert to retinaldehyde, which then converts to retinoic acid—the form that interacts directly with receptors in skin cells.
Retinaldehyde, on the other hand, converts in one step, greatly reducing the possibility of redness and irritation.
That distinction matters because each conversion introduces another variable in how efficiently the ingredient is used.
Retinoids work quickly, but in this case, speed isn't necessarily better.
The most effective vitamin A routine is one your skin can tolerate consistently and year-round. Redness, peeling, and irritation aren't proof that a product is working harder. They're often signs that your skin isn't adjusting well or in any way, actually benefiting from the product you are using.
